Background: Syrah is native to the northern Rhone Region of Southeastern

Vineyards: One vineyard makes up this wine. 100% comes from the beautiful Talmage at the base of the foothills in
the benchlands. This vineyard has shallow soils and excellent exposure that combine to produce grapes that are
intensely ripe and flavorful.
Winemaking: After crushing the grapes into small open-top stainless steel tanks, the must was cold soaked for 4 days
and pumped over and punched down twice daily for 2 weeks during fermentation, before being pressed off into French
and American Burgundy oak barrels. After an extended aging period in barrels for over 36 months, the wine was egg
white fined, rough filtered and bottled on July 24th 2020.
Winemaker Comments: This wine shows a brilliant, dark purple garnet color and has deep complex aromas and
flavors of boysenberry and ripe plums with hints of white pepper spice, roasted coffee and toasty oak. This wellbalanced wine displays ample acidity and medium ripe, full tannins. The finish is smooth, round and long lasting.
FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS: Enjoy this robust wine with hearty braised beef short ribs or roasted leg of lamb
